Email Forwarding

Forward Gmail Emails to Your Print Address

    3 min read

Your orders already land in Gmail. One forwarding rule later, they land in the printer tray too. Two ways to do it - forward everything, or forward only the emails you pick.

    Table of Contents

    Copy your print address first

Open ItJustPrints on your tablet, go to Settings → Print addresses, and tap your address to copy it. It looks like print-abc123@in.itjustprints.app.

This is the one most shops want - your orders print, your newsletters don't.

    1. In Gmail on a computer, go to Settings → See all settings → Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
    2. Click Add a forwarding address and paste your print address. Gmail sends a confirmation - ItJustPrints confirms it for you automatically, usually within a minute.
    3. Now go to Filters and blocked addresses → Create a new filter.
    4. In From, enter the sender you want printed (for example orders@shopify.com), then click Create filter.
    5. Tick Forward it to and pick your print address. Done.

Repeat step 3 to 5 for each sender you want printed. Google's own guide is here: Automatically forward Gmail messages.

    Option B: forward everything

Same first two steps as above, then on the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab choose Forward a copy of incoming mail to your print address. Every email now goes to the printer queue - use the ItJustPrints Rules screen to limit printing to certain senders.

    The confirmation email

When you add a forwarding address, Gmail asks that address to confirm. ItJustPrints handles this for you - the confirmation is clicked automatically on our side. If Gmail still shows "pending" after a few minutes, remove the address and add it again.

    Not printing?

Send yourself a test email from the allowed sender with a PDF attached. If nothing prints, check that the app is open on the tablet and the printer has paper. Attachments print; plain email bodies are not printed in v1.
