Email Forwarding

Forward Outlook Emails to Your Print Address

    2 min read

Outlook rules were built for exactly this: "when an order email arrives, send it somewhere useful". Here, somewhere useful is your printer.

    Table of Contents

    Copy your print address first

Open ItJustPrints on your tablet, go to Settings → Print addresses, and tap your address to copy it. It looks like print-abc123@in.itjustprints.app.

In Outlook on the web (works for outlook.com, Hotmail, and Microsoft 365 work accounts):

    1. Open Settings → Mail → Rules and click Add new rule.
    2. Name it something like "Print orders".
    3. Condition: From → the sender you want printed (for example orders@shopify.com).
    4. Action: Forward to → paste your print address.
    5. Save. New matching emails now forward - and print.

Microsoft's own guide is here: Use rules to automatically forward messages.

    Forward everything

In Settings → Mail → Forwarding, turn forwarding on and paste your print address. Keep the "keep a copy" option ticked so your inbox still gets the mail. Then use the ItJustPrints Rules screen to limit what actually prints.

    Work accounts

Some Microsoft 365 organizations block forwarding to outside addresses. If your rule saves but nothing arrives, ask your admin whether external forwarding is allowed.

    Not printing?

Send yourself a test email from the allowed sender with a PDF attached. If nothing prints, check that the app is open on the tablet and the printer has paper. Attachments print; plain email bodies are not printed in v1.
