    ItJustPrints vs AutoPrintEmail

Same team, two print stations. ItJustPrints runs on a phone or tablet with no computer. AutoPrintEmail runs on a computer and keeps email off the cloud entirely. Here is how to pick.

AutoPrintEmail is our sister product, so this is a decision guide, not a takedown. Both tools do the same job - emails and order slips that print themselves - with opposite architectures. ItJustPrints runs on a phone or tablet and needs no computer. AutoPrintEmail runs on a Windows, macOS or Linux computer and keeps your email off the cloud entirely. Which one fits depends on what is sitting next to your printer.

The core difference: where your email goes

ItJustPrints never connects to your inbox. You get a private @itjustprints.app address and forward to it - a Gmail forwarding rule, or your Shopify order notification email pointed straight at it. Our cloud receives the email, renders it, and the device at the counter prints it over Wi-Fi within seconds. Only what you forward ever reaches us, and it is deleted on a short retention window.

AutoPrintEmailconnects directly to your Gmail, Outlook or IMAP inbox and processes email on your own computer. Message content never routes through anyone's cloud. The trade-off is that a computer at the location has to stay on - a mini PC in the back office is the typical unattended setup.

    Pick ItJustPrints if

    • There is no computer at the counter and you don't want to add one - a spare phone or tablet by the printer is the whole setup.
    • You print order notifications (Shopify, WooCommerce, delivery platforms) rather than sensitive documents.
    • You want prints starting seconds after the email arrives.
    • You prefer store billing with a 14-day free trial - no card entered anywhere.

    Pick AutoPrintEmail if

    • A computer already runs at the location (or a $150 mini PC is an easy add).
    • You handle sensitive email - patient documents, invoices, contracts - and want it processed on your own machine, never in a cloud.
    • You want a full rules engine: copies per sender, paper trays, duplex, office documents.
    • Paying $199 once beats a monthly bill for you.

    That one lives at autoprint.email.

    FAQ

Are ItJustPrints and AutoPrintEmail made by the same company?

Yes. Both are built by the same team. ItJustPrints is the mobile, cloud-based print station for locations without a computer; AutoPrintEmail is the desktop, privacy-first product for locations that have one.

    Which one is more private?

AutoPrintEmail. It connects to your inbox but processes everything on your own computer, so message content never routes through any cloud. ItJustPrints never touches your inbox, but the specific emails you forward do pass through our cloud briefly (printed emails are deleted on a 30-day retention window, files sooner).

Why does ItJustPrints cost more per month?

ItJustPrints runs a cloud pipeline: receiving your forwarded email, rendering it, and pushing it to the device that prints. That is what you pay for at $99/month per location (or $999/year) with a 14-day free trial, billed through the App Store or Google Play. AutoPrintEmail does that work on your computer, so it costs $14.99/month or $199 once.

    Can I use both?

Yes. Some businesses run AutoPrintEmail on a back-office computer for documents and invoices, and ItJustPrints on a counter tablet for order slips. They are independent products with separate billing.
